Mattel just released a Type One Diabetic Barbie Doll. This would normally have me shrugging my shoulders because honestly, I don’t care about things like this. I’m too busy doing other things like practicing for horseback riding, stressing over school, or even binge-watching TV shows.
Having said that, I’m a Barbie collector. I have quite the collection, since one of my grandma’s friends generously gifted my sister and I all of her Barbies. I will admit, however, the Barbies are making my service dog room redo a little bit more complicated. It’s hard to fit over 20 Barbie boxes into a small room and still have room for my diabetes supplies, bed, and a few other things.
Luckily, we’re figuring it out. We’re leaving to the Alert Dog summer camp on July 11th, and the camp is from the 14th to the 18th.
KING5 NEWS recently made a post about the Diabetic Barbie, however, and the three variations of it.
I’ll be sure to post more later regarding my Service Dog training camp, and if I do indeed get paired with an alert dog, that will become the center of this blog and I will hopefully start posting more regularly around the dog’s alerts and stories of what will happen in public.
