Struggle Going Back to School

So… Back to School season is starting… and I start on September 3rd.

I recently went shopping for a new school bag with my parents, and this is how it went:

“How’s this bag?”
“That’s a backpack, my school doesn’t allow that.”
“What about this one?”
“That’s a suitcase.”
“This one?”
“It needs to fit under my desk.”
“Your school is so picky.”

I need my school supplies (Binder, Laptop, Books, Notebooks, Pencil Bag) to fit into my bag because sometimes I can’t get to my locker, plus my diabetes supplies. That’s school supplies AND a pricking kit, glucagon, juices, and snacks. Sooo much fun for an eighth grader.

We saw a satchel that my parents and I liked, but it was too small to fit all my stuff, so we looked around for a little bit and found the bag I ended up getting today.

It’s big, but can fit under a desk with plenty of room left over. It’s flexible, so I can fit a few long items in it. It has a lot of pockets, so I can fit my diabetes supplies in it. It’s the ideal bag, AND it doesn’t hurt to carry around for so long because the leather is soft. Thank you, Nordstrom Rack.

But seriously, it sucks to find a school bag that fits the school’s qualifications and yours. Last year I just used a simple tote bags…3 of them… that started falling apart. The last one towards the end of the year, which is why I had to go shopping.

Anyways, hope y’all found it funny that the schools make us struggle to find the right bag to carry all of our supplies. It is a bit different when we have to consider all of our health care needs as well.

Now I’m just concerned about school supplies such as binders, notebooks, and pencil bags…
