Okay, so I wrote in a previous post that there was drama as to whether or not Yugi Muto, the protagonist of the anime and manga series Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, has Type 1 Diabetes.
For starters, I found a Reddit post saying that the creator, Kazuki Takahashi, thinks that Yugi does have diabetes and that it stunted his growth. However, I do not think that this is enough evidence and researched further than just a simple Reddit post.
After that, I went to Screen Rant. I found out from the article I read (url: https://screenrant.com/yu-gi-oh-yugi-muto-facts-trivia/) that it was actually just an change in the lines of the manga for some reason. As far as I know, the reasons for this are unknown, or maybe just a mistranslation.
I also checked out cbr.com (full url: https://www.cbr.com/yu-gi-oh-theory-suggest-yugi-diabetic/) that talked about how the majority of these debates are all about rumors that were spread. I talked about how the rumors were of Takahashi going to an American convention and explaining how Yugi has Type 1 Diabetes and it stunted his growth. However, this article says that those rumors were fake due to Takahashi never going to an American convention.
Having said that, I checked out another website, Anime News Network, and found out that Kazuki Takahashi did, indeed, go to an American convention.
I have also found a Wikipedia article, but I have learned to not trust Wikipedia due to the fact that it can be edited by practically anybody who knows how. Also, I personally do not trust anything that doesn’t have proper grammar, which that article did not. I understand 1-2 grammatical errors here and there, but they didn’t even capitalize the word “I”! Not to mention, YOU DON’T WRITE IN 1ST PERSON POINT OF VIEW FOR A FRIGGIN WIKIPEDIA ARTICLE!
With all of that information, what is the correct decision? I will most likely do more research and another post on this topic.
If you have read this for this long, Happy 4th of July!
