What’s goody my gangalang and what kind of ludicrous tomfoolery are we performing on this fine evening?
GUESS WHAT.
School drama SUCKS.
Mind-blowing idea, I know.
So far, in the last two months, there have been rumors about my friend and I dating (I managed to shut those down), more rumors about the friend that is INCREDIBLY INAPPROPRIATE, I’ve gone through multiple friendship breakups, AND I got into a fight with a friend.
The teachers are throwing so much schoolwork at us that the school can barely keep up, over half the school has a D or lower in at least one class (thankfully my lowest grade is a high B right now – my teacher doesn’t like me very much), and barely any of us eighth graders are getting the recommended sleep hours; this last week before break has allowed us to nap in class during the movies, yay!
Thankfully, I have some really great friends who are really nice to me.
We confronted one of the ‘friends’ who I ended things with, because she was saying some rather… disturbing things about some of the other kids that we know.
Confronting her about this and cutting the friendship has actually caused me and the people she said those things about to become closer, because I wasn’t afraid to go to the counselor with these people to talk about the fact that these things are not okay to be saying. And these boys are thankful to me for that. Before all of this happened, we were always at each other’s throats and now we’re friends-ish. We’re not too friendly, but we help each other out when it’s needed.
Now, I have more people who come over to the lunch table – it used to just be a girl and I, and we’re great friends, but we managed to bring a lot of our friend group over to our table.
Now, I talk with more of my friends during class because we’ve gotten closer through rumors and the similarity of drama we’ve been through, and we just overall are nice to each other.
I have a friend who I never talked to, not even online in a group chat, until this month, and now he comes over to my table in science class and lunch and just talks with me, we laugh at jokes from across the classroom, and we chat online. It’s nothing too extreme, but we keep in touch every now and then. I still keep my distance from some people, making sure to not cross any boundaries or accidentally become a third wheel, but I still keep in touch with people and I’m friendly to them.
So I guess that with all the school drama, out of school drama, and just overall drama, there can still be some good to come out of it, right?
